The Manor on the Monnow, Monmouth

The Manor on the Monnow is an imposing manor house located on the banks of the River Monnow, just a 10-minute walk from the centre of Monmouth in the beautiful Wye Valley. It's a charming town with an array of independent shops, cafes, restaurants and bars. It's easy to see why it was voted the third happiest place to live in Britain.

The Manor comfortably accommodates 24 guests in 11 bedrooms, 7 of which have their own en suite, with 4 bedrooms sharing 2 family bathrooms. Two bedrooms are on the ground floor, one is easy to access and uses a shower room/WC accessed via the kitchen, and the second is accessed via 4 wide steps with a handrail and has its own en suite. A couple of cots are ready for use by children under 3.

The communal spaces at The Manor are excellent for large groups of friends or family wanting to spend their holiday relaxing and dining together. The kitchen and breakfast room make catering for your party a breeze, whilst the dining room is large enough to seat all of you around the table, making mealtimes memorable. The Great Hall is a vast room with underfloor heating, a wood burner, satellite TV, a DVD player and a music system, the perfect place to come together at the end of a long day. Adjoining the Hall is a games room equipped with table tennis, pool, table football and more.

Step outside via the kitchen or Great Hall to the patio area, where there's plenty of outdoor seating for you to sit back and relax whilst you make use of the barbeque, watch the children playing on the lawn, spend some time in the hot tub, or listen to the river winding its way down to meet the River Wye. The site is fenced, gated and at the end of a lane, so there's very little passing traffic.

The Manor has everything you could need for a memorable holiday, and you may choose to spend your time relaxing and catching up with your friends at the house; many of our guests do just that. But it would be a shame to miss out on the breathtaking scenery of the Wye Valley, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and the Forest of Dean whilst you are staying in the area. The Manor is in the perfect location to make the most of exploring the unique woodland landscape, rivers, hills and valleys. Lovers of the outdoors will not be disappointed. The area is superb for walking, cycling, kayaking and canoeing, climbing, caving...the list goes on. There are a wealth of outdoor activities you can try your hand at; look at the local tourist website - www.wyedeantourism.co.uk. You also have an array of family-oriented attractions such as Clearwell Caves, Perrygrove Railway, and Puzzlewood nearby, castles, museums and cathedrals aplenty, and charming towns and villages nearby are well worth a visit.

We look forward to welcoming you.
