Many of Ilfracombe's holiday cottages are ocean-facing, with outstanding sea views for miles and miles out. Your Devon holiday cottage in Ilfracombe will be a beautifully rural one with some of the best of the country's views.

The Landmark Theatre presents popular shows, from musicals and comedians to dramas, films, and live screenings from The National Theatre and The Royal Opera House. The Landmark overlooks the small Wildersmouth Beach, beyond which are scenic walks around Capstone Hill, at the top of which is an ancient Fishermen's Chapel well worth the climb. To the West are the famous Tunnels Beaches, small private beaches with rock pools reached through tunnels carved into the rock in Victorian times. They are much sought after for wedding destinations and popular with families.

Ilfracombe Harbour (embarkation point for sea trips to Lundy Island or coastal cruises), you can find the fantastic work of resident Damien Hirst.' Verity' is an impressive sixty-six-foot bronze statue of a woman forever staring out to sea at the edge of the pier alongside the harbour. Visit the Ilfracombe Aquarium or join a mackerel fishing tip to bring some fish home to BBQ at your holiday cottage.

Further inland, you can find delicious restaurants, wonderfully charismatic bistros, and cafes filled with mouth-watering recipes and concoctions for all the family. Splash out on a memorable lunch in Damian Hirst's harbourside Bistro or try a melted cheese and lava (seaweed) sandwich! Indulge in Ilfracombe's finest freshly caught mussels and scallops, or enjoy a traditional fish and chips from Maddie's. You can also relax with a film at the local Embassy Cinema.

Further afield, holiday cottage and apartment residents in Ilfracombe enjoy easy access to a host of award-winning sandy beaches such as WoolacombeCroyde, Saunton Sands, or little rocky coves such as Rockham Bay, Lee Bay, Combe Martin (great rock pooling) and Barricane Beach. Walk the South West Coast Path, which offers stunning views across The Bristol Channel to Wales. The path runs across the top of the highest cliffs in Europe at Great Hangman, just East of Combe Martin, and along the coast at Trentishoe to Woody Bay, where (should you fancy a ride) the Lynton Barnstaple Narrow Gauge railway has its station.
